Getting to Girona–Costa Brava Airport

By Bus

Sagalés bus line 607 connects the airport and Girona bus station. Buses run every hour from 5:30am until 10:30pm. Bus stop is located on the ground floor, outside the Arrivals Hall. Single fare starts at $3.27 (€2,75).

There are also four intercities bus routes that are offered at the airport. Sagalés buses can take you to Barcelona and Costa Brava, T.E.I.S.A. - Eix Bus to Lleida, and Flixbus to the Perpignan in France.

By Taxi

Metered taxis are available at the official airport taxi stand. There are two types of fare: Weekdays rate from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., minimum $7.18 (€6,05) and $0.81(€0,68)/km . Each hour of waiting costs $22.19 (€18,69) and Weekdays rate from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., weekends and holidays, minimum $7.96 (€6,70) and $0.89 (€0,75)/km. Waiting hour is $24.56 (€20,68). For journeys from or to Girona-Costa Brava Airport there is an additional charge of $3.68 (€3,10).

By Car

The airport is served by three main roads:

  • E-15/AP-7 toll road (Perpignan, France – south of Spain)
  • C-25 (Lleida – Vic – Girona)
  • N-II, no-toll road (Madrid – Barcelona – Perpignan, France)

Costa Brava

The Costa Brava stretches from Blanes to the French border. It is full of charming towns and some of the most spectacular beaches and coves in the entire Iberian Peninsula.

There are three lines operating between the airport and some of the main towns of the Costa Brava. Sagalés bus line 605 runs from Girona Airport to the coastal towns of Blanes and Calella. The tourist areas are known as Costa Brava Sur, in the south of the Costa Brava. Tickets to Blanes and Calella cost $11.87 (€10) one way. You can also go to Blanes with bus line 601. The beach destination Lloret de Mar can be reached with bus line 613.

Girona-Costa Brava Airport is the second most important airport in the Barcelona area in Spain. It is located in the town of Vilobí d’Onyar, just 13 kilometers from the center of the city of Girona. The city of Barcelona is located 92 km to the south and due to its proximity it is a good alternative to the Barcelona-El Prat Airport.

Girona Airport has a single passenger terminal with two levels. On the ground floor there are check-in counters and the first floor which is the departures level and where boarding gates 1 - 15 are located.

Duty Free has a store at Girona airport, located in the boarding area of ​​the departure terminal. Passengers can choose from a wide range of products from top brands in perfumery and cosmetics, drinks, tobacco, foodstuffs and souvenirs. There is also a press and convenience shop called "Divers" offering a wide range of food, leisure and entertainment products.

In spite of its small size, GRO offers some options for grabbing something to eat once you've arrived to the airport. Carlsberg and Exploring the World are both a great meeting point for wine and tapas. Also La Pausa restaurant, Burger King and Lavazza coffee shop.
